The star met Lawrence’s mum Baroness Doreen Lawrence at The Brit Awards
Stormzy is in talks to perform at a concert in memory of Stephen Lawrence, after meeting Lawrence’s mother, Baroness Doreen Lawrence, at The Brit Awards.
Baroness Lawrence is currently speaking to music execs at Universal with the view to hold multiple shows for the 25th anniversary of her son’s death.
Speaking to The Mirror’s 3am, Baroness Lawrence explained that she met Stormzy at The Brits and he was willing to show his support.
The 65-year-old said: “Stormzy spoke to me about getting involved. He’s amazing. We’d like to put on a few different concerts around London rather than one single memorial.”
Talks to hold gigs are currently underway and Baroness Lawrence is hopeful that more big names will agree to perform.
The shows will mark the 25th anniversary of Stephen Lawrence’s death. Lawrence was killed by a gang at a bus stop in Eltham, south-east London in April 1993.
Baroness Lawrence went on to set up The Stephen Lawrence Trust and has campaigned since her son’s death. But the former Pride of Britain award winner revealed that this year will be her last year of campaigning.
