Outselling the likes of The Beatles, Queen, and Justin Timberlake

Eminem sold more albums than any other artist last year, according to new stats.

The Detroit rap superstar released his tenth album ‘Kamikaze‘ in August last year. In October, the surprise released-LP went platinum, having shifted over one million units. It was also announced last week that the record had landed at Number 10 on the list of 2018’s biggest selling albums (via the Official Charts Company).
However, new stats suggest that Slim Shady was in fact the biggest selling act of last year. An end of year report from BuzzAngle Music says that he outsold every artist across the globe – with a huge 755,027 album sales bagged.

With ‘Kamikaze’ not being the biggest-selling record of 2018 overall, the findings show that it was Marshal Mathers’ extensive back catalogue that catapulted him to the top

Eminem is followed in the ‘Top Artists By Album Sales’ rundown by K-pop icons BTS, who sold 603,307 LPs. Chris Stapleton landed in third place (577,287), with Metallica coming in at Number 4 (539,861). The Beatles, Queen, and Justin Timberlake also feature in the top ten.

New statistics from Spotify show that the rapper’s track ‘Till I Collapse’ is the top work-out song among Spotify users for the third year running. His 8 Mile track ‘Lose Yourself’ came in second on the list.
