Drake has broken Taylor Swift’s Spotify streaming record

At one point, the two pop titans were rumoured to be recording together.

Drake has broken a Spotify streaming record previously held by Taylor Swift.

The rapper released new tracks ‘God’s Plan’ and ‘Diplomatic Immunity’ last week. Both are set to appear on his new ‘Scary Hours’ project.

God’s Plan’ amassed over 4.3 million streams on Spotify on the US in Monday (January 22), the highest one-day total in the streaming platform’s history. The record was previously held by Taylor Swift’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do’, a Spotify rep told Pitchfork.

Drake has since celebrated the achievement on his Instagram.

It was reported back in 2016 that Drake and Swift had been working together, but so far no kind of collaboration has emerged.

Meanwhile, Drake has been accused of stealing the ‘Scary Hours’ artwork after rapper Rabit noticed an apparent similarity to his 2015 tour poster.

“Today I wake up to see OVO has redone one of my 2015 tour posters designed by @collindfletcher for Drake’s new single”, he wrote on Instagram.

Poor Collin is always having his style stolen. Lol BUT I love being part of a team that’s so creative and iconic.”

Fletcher has also responded and said that many designers “identify” with having their work taken.

“This is a story that too many artists, musicians, and designers identify with,” Fletcher said in a statement.

“Hopefully this results in a larger conversation about popular culture’s relationship to underground artist.”

Drake is yet to respond to the claims, but a source close to the singer claims that OVO didn’t source this artwork and were presented it – chosen from a selection of  older art.
