Rihanna was awarded Harvard’s Humanitarian Of The Year Award for 2017 and her acceptance speech was inspirational AF.

The ‘Love On The Brain’ singer was recognised by the prestigious university for her philanthropic work and the charities she has founded throughout the years.

“So I made it to Harvard,” Rihanna began before flipping her ponytail in her iconic sassy manner.

“Never thought I’d be able to say that in my life, but it feels good.”

Over the years, Rihanna has carried out extensive charitable work across her native Barbados well as founding the Clara Lionel Foundation, a  non-profit organisation which helps impoverished communities around the world.

“I would think to myself, ‘I wonder how many 25 cents I could save up to save all the kids in Africa,'” said Ri as she reflected on her childhood.

“And I would say to myself, ‘When I grow up and I get rich, I’m gonna save kids all over the world.’ I just didn’t know I would be in a position to do that by the time I was a teenager!”

In one particularly heartwarming moment, a young boy presented Rihanna with a bunch of flowers on behalf of the children of Cambridge with a touching speech of his own.
Rihanna concluded her speech by sharing an inspiring quote from her grandmother.

“My grandmother always used to say, ‘If you got a dollar, that’s plenty to share.'”
