The ongoing battle between Tidal and Prince’s continues and its getting nasty.

A new lawsuit filed by Prince’s Estate makes the sensational allegation that representatives for Tidal actually backdated and doctored contracts, in an effort to gain greater access to Prince’s catalog.

Prince’s estate claims Tidal only had the rights to stream Prince’s album Hit N Run: Phase 1.

However, the lawsuit claims Tidal helped itself to 15 of Prince’s other albums before the lawsuit was filed in November of 2016.

Tidal has denied the allegations, claiming they had the proper paperwork for the albums in question.

However, Prince’s Estate claims they have uncovered evidence proving Tidal fabricated and backdated documents relating to the musician’s music.

The lawsuit claims Tidal is refusing to hand over pertinent documents related to the case, so Prince’s Estate is seeking a judge to compel the company to do so.
