According to reports, Pharrell Will score the musical, which centers around two families, one living in contemporary times and the other just after the Civil War.

“I dream about projects like this,” Pharrell Williams said in a statement. “Kenya and Peter are geniuses and ‘Juneteenth’ will change culture and change history. We couldn’t sign up fast enough. We are thrilled to collaborate with them.”
