Tinie Tempah's brand new clothing campaign, "DL X MHI"
After having just been named ‘Best Dressed Man of 2012’ at the GQ Awards, UK artist Tinie Tempah will now certainly be directing style interest towards his collaborative clothing line ‘DL X MHI’.
The limited edition collection is a result of record label Disturbing London’s partnership with street brand MHI. The campaign, shot by Hamish Brown, features DL artist’s Tinie Tempah, Dot GR, GFresh and Sasha Keable, who each model the pieces with a distinctively frank confidence. Shots are executed with paralleled simplicity to the clothing itself, allowing basic alterations and photographic effects aid in strengthening the collections visual impact.
The clothing appears clean in cut and design, with emphasis placed on detail and varying interpretations of the Disturbing London logo. Staples form the foundation of the line with multiple tee’s, sweatshirts and slim fitting bottoms on offer. Stand out pieces include the glossy London Blackout T-Shirt and the Disturbing Icon Shirt in washed denim chambray. With the colour blue already highlighted as key to this season’s palette, this indigo shirt displays an embroidered detail print with contrasting sleeves and breast pockets. Although bold, the result has a soft wearable quality. This reduces the impact slightly and can therefore appeal to the simplest of styles.
‘DL X MHI’ consists of varied playful separates that when paired together form a current, colourful twist on an almost retro inspired look. With tones of olive, sand and vibrant red running throughout the collection, the line offers something alternative to the urban driven style followers that wish to remain in keeping with British street wear trends.
