At an evening which celebrates the best in British music, Rihanna knew she had to go all out to steal the show.

And she did a pretty good job at the BRIT Awards last night, donning a plunging sequin number.

The Umbrella singer, who is on the tail end of a three-day party in London after celebrating her 24th birthday, showed off some serious skin as she posed for photographers on the red carpet.

Showing off her curves: Rihanna showed off some serious skin in this plunging gold sequin number, trumping British stars like Jessie J

Rihanna's gold dress had a halterneck-style which finished at her navel, and a thigh-high split showing off her enviable legs.

She paired it with brown leather gloves and strappy gold heels.

Her blonde weave was twisted up onto her head.

Later in the evening, Rihanna donned a curly wig to give an energetic performance of We Found Love after winning International Female Solo Artist, donning just a long-sleeved top, exposing her pants underneath.

She sang in a clear box which contained dancers splashing paint around, and later emerged with green paint on her outfit.

Meanwhile, Holly Willoughby gave the star a run for her money in the provocative dress stakes.

The This Morning host donned a plunging black dress, showing off her ample cleavage, trumping singers like Jessie J and Florence Welch.

The mother-of-two - nicknamed Holly 'Willoughbooby' by Celebrity Juice host Keith Lemon paired the number, which finished just above her knees with towering strappy black heels and a small clutch.

Her blonde locks were curled slightly and fell loosely around her face.

Jessie J was in no way conservative, but in her sheer red dress, she was still unable to divert eyes away from Holly.

The singer showed off her underwear and covered her modesty with strategically-placed designs across her chest.

Her black hair was curled and slicked on the top.

Nicole Scherzinger looked gorgeous in this lemon dress, while Florence Welch showed off her pale legs in this beige number, and Abbey Clancy opted for a sixties-style pink number.

Award winner Adele looked gorgeous in a black dress with a sweetheart neckline and sheer sleeves.

X Factor winner Alexandra Burke chose a purple dress which had an odd yellow panel on the top, while American singer Lana Del Rey opted for a gorgeous off-the-shoulder red dress and Cher Lloyd shunned a dress in favour of this sparkly jumpsuit.

Pixie Lott opted for a black sleeveless dress with tassels attached while Florence Welch showed off her pale legs in a mullet-style beige dress with long sleeves.

Australian singer Kylie Minogue opted for a bright blue, sleeveless dress with a large split up the front showing off her enviable legs.

The Only Way Is Essex star Lydia Bright in a flowy number, Fearne Cotton opted for a white top and black skirt and Lisa Snowdon wore a white bandage dress.

Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton opted for a red lace dress with tights, Caroline Flack oped for her usual shorts and blazer combo on the red carpet, and Katie Melua wore a lace swing dress.

Singer Christina Perri showed off her array of tattoos in this sheer red dress, while Jo Whiley went for an asymmetrical black number and Laura Whitmore opted for a sheer spotty number with yellow heel.

Emeli Sande covered up in this black ensemble, while DJ Sara Cox wore an asymmetrical leopard-print dress and Victoria Justice wore a cut-out number
